It took many liberal coats of "Aircraft Stripper (I wonder why the EPA is not all over this stuff), some time with a wire wheel in a die griner, and many hours of 250/400/600 sandpaper to get all that shiny metal to show.
The sun created a little bit of a glare on some of these photos but you can tell what is silver.
The only rust I found was under the battery tray, but it was minor and I ground almost all of it off before a topcoat of POR-15.
The area around the battery is still primered.
High temperature smi gloss enamel was used with about 5 coats.
